Creative & Performing Artist

Director

Theatre Educator

Facilitator

I'm a Chilean-born interdisciplinary artist based in Narrm/Melbourne, with over twenty years of experience in the creative and performing arts, including work in education and a deep commitment to community and the social practice. From an early stage, I have been drawn to the ways in which theatre, body-based practices and community engagement can open spaces for collective expression, connection and transformation. This interest has guided my artistic path and continues to shape the work I create today, which explores themes of identity, migration, care and women’s lived experiences.

My formal training began in Chile, where I graduated with Honours in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) from ARCIS University in 2008. With a growing desire to expand my artistic practice, I went on to complete a Master of Theatre (Directing) at Universidad de Chile in 2012, supported by an academic scholarship together with the FONDART (Chile's National Fund for the Development of Culture and the Arts). Alongside these studies, I pursued specialised training in theatre pedagogy, voice and dramatic body expression in France and Spain, deepening my understanding of the embodied and relational dimensions of performance.

In 2019, I travelled to India to train in yoga — a journey that not only enriched my personal wellbeing practices but also expanded my work as a facilitator in wellness and creative development. This approach now informs how I hold creative spaces rooted in self-awareness, experimentation and connection with the present, weaving together tools from theatre, movement and somatic practice.

Before settling in Australia, I had the opportunity to travel the world in many ways, engaging with diverse cultures, artistic practices and ways of living. These experiences live in my body, have deeply inspired my creative path, and continue to guide my life and practice.

Since making Australia my home, I have continued to build collaborative and intercultural practices. I co-create with Roots & Trace Ensemble and participate in Tunjos y Cantaros Ethnologic Dance Company, working with artists from diverse traditions and geographies. I’m also an active member of Colectiva Abya Yala, a collective of Latin American migrant women exploring ecofeminist perspectives and embracing our mestiza mixed-culture identities — a community that has profoundly nurtured my sense of belonging, collective learning and critical reflection on how we construct social narratives.

Throughout my career I have had the privilege of collaborating on projects across Latin America, Europe and Australia. Some of my most meaningful works include Knots of Becoming, developed through the Merri-bek City Council Festivals Development Program in 2025; Weaving Waters, led by Colectiva Abya Yala and funded by Creative Australia and the Merri-bek City Council Flourish Arts Grant; and Flows of Voice – Theatrical Forms Exploring Female Migration through Body, Voice and Memory, an artistic residency funded by IBEROESCENA in 2023. Other projects include La Fiesta de la Chakra: A Winter Solstice Film, supported by Moreland City Council in Melbourne in 2021; Beasts, the English adaptation of Las Brutas written by Juan Radrigán, presented at La Mama Theatre during the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2018; and Como una Gata, a free adaptation of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof that received an Honorable Mention for Best Direction at the 10th Theatre Directing Festival in Santiago, Chile in 2009.

My work continues to grow out of a curiosity for interwoven stories, embodied experience and collective imagination, always seeking spaces where art, care and community can meet and transform.
